When water first enters the TFC-25, it flows through a prefilter that removes particles larger than 5 micron, such as rust, silt and scale.   This protects the automatic shut-off and the membrane from clogging with debris.   The prefilter also contains Activated Carbon that removes chlorine and other Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's).

Water then travels to the Thin Film Composite membrane.   Microscopic pores in the membrane allow pure water through and reject the vast majority of dissolved solids contained in the water.   these impurities are then flushed down the drain in a crossflow stream that helps to clean the membrane.

After being purified by the membrane, the water is then routed to an FDA approved sanitary holding tank , where the water is pressurized and stored for you to use.

When you turn on the lead-free faucet, water is forced through two additional Activated Carbon filtration stages to further improve the taste and smell of the water.

The TFC-25 Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Purification system also includes a water quality tester.   This sensitive electronic device compares the quality of water entering and water exiting the system to confirm that the system is doing it's job.
